" Como en el caso de '¿Culpable?' y de varios poemas, esta obra nace de un acontecimiento de crónica, que seguramente ha impresionado a nuestro autor. Están presentes en la memoria colectiva las escenas de la prisión de Abu Ghraib en Irak y aquella imagen de gran impacto que mostraba a hombres amasados desnudos bajo la amenaza y el escarnio de una joven militar estadounidense con un perro verosímilmente adiestrado para estas tareas. Sin duda Alfonso Vallejo, siempre comprometido moralmente contra la guerra y las armas nucleares (HiroshimaSevilla, Jasmín, Al final por fin la paz, etc.), recibió una fuerte impresión y no se resistió a plasmarla en lenguaje teatral, para él el mejor medio para la indagación de la realidad".
