"Pimenta no ha renunciado, pese al cambio cronológico, al lenguaje denso y al fraseo largo de Shakespeare. "Es el mito del romanticismo, visto por ojos no románticos", dice.El argumento de Romeo y Julieta ya era conocido por el público cuando Shakespeare escribió la obra. Cuatro siglos más tarde, Helena Pimenta ha intentado liberar a los personajes del peso del mito en una nueva lectura de la tragedia. Pimenta explica que se ha mantenido fiel al lenguaje original, llenando los personajes de humanidad, y sin complacerse en el dolor. "No sólo los héroes tienen derecho a decir grandes cosas", insiste Pimenta para justificar su deseo de presentar una historia cercana". (Eva Lamarca, El País, 5-10-1995). |
