"África es el eje central de la obra 'Memento Mori', de Borja Ortiz de Gondra. (...) Dirigida por Jaime Chávarri y con Cristina Rota al frente del reparto y de la producción, la función habla de la 'responsabilidad moral de nuestra mirada' hacia ese mundo 'olvidado'. Así lo ha expresado este jueves Ortiz de Gondra, quien hace dos años recibió de Rota este encargo, 'un trabajo muy duro' pero sobre el que existía 'un lenguaje común y muchas cosas que decir', apunta. Según el autor, en un mundo interconectado 'no podemos decir que no sabíamos'. 'Nuestra responsabilidad es decidir qué es lo que queremos ver. De eso habla esta obra y también de lo que cuentan los periodistas', explica. 'Memento Mori' habla de los sentimientos de una familia de mujeres triunfadoras en su profesión pero que ocultan heridas íntimas: una prestigiosa fotógrafa y sus hijas, una reputada reportera de guerra y una estudiante de medicina que decide seguir a África a su marido, un diplomático. Este continente cambia sus vidas y les empuja a complejos dilemas morales".
