"Da vergüenza decirlo, también rabia, pero bajo una apariencia fulgurante, lo cierto es que el teatro en Madrid está seriamente amenazado. No es una amenaza que se circunscriba a los teatros de nuestra comunidad; afecta igualmente, aunque en distinto grado, a todo el teatro del Estado. Ahora bien, el hecho de ser Madrid el ámbito en el que durante siglos gravitó, aún gravita, la mayor parte de la creación, producción y exhibición del teatro español, y la circunstancia de que sea precisamente aquí donde se producen los primeros síntomas, hace que esta amenaza nos concierna muy especialmente...".
