Summary, etc RESUMEN: This itinerary of the Diaghilev Ballets Russes is a conflation of two independent studies into the twenty years of touring by the Diaghilev troupe from its first season in Paris in 1909 to its final performances in 1929. Professor Roland John Wiley compiled a listing of these performances in 1971, based on his researches into collections of Diaghilev material in the Enthoven Collection, London (now a core collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum's Theatre and Performance Collection) and Grigoriev Collection, Stockholm, (now at Stockholm University). This list has never been published and made widely accessible. Jane Pritchard assembled her itinerary from research she has made as a result of being invited to co-curate the forthcoming exhibition on the Victoria and Albert Museum in 2010 and being frustrated that such a list appeared not to be available. Collections in Britain, Europe and America were therefore consulted together with publications that have appeared since Wiley made his compilation. In combining and checking these two listings some inconsistencies in dates, locations and repertory have been solved although there are areas, notably performances by the company on tour in central Europe, that have still to be solved. Wiley's list includes also details of musical interludes and conductors and it is hoped to place this enhanced listing on the web-site. As this amalgamation of the list was taking place, Sarah Woodcock's independent and valuable listings began to be serialized in The Dancing Times. This Dance Research listing will be available on the internet and corrections and additional information will be added. All corrections to the research here presented will be gratefully received.
