«Mujeres de papel» es un proyecto de Nuevo Teatro Fronterizo para Le Monde Diplomatique en español y La Casa Encendida. A lo largo del siglo XX, mientras un número creciente de mujeres luchaban en Europa y en América por alcanzar una mayor visibilidad en sus respectivas sociedades y por abrir un camino hacia la igualdad, la literatura -especialmente la narrativa- pareció acompañar y quizás estimular estos procesos creando una galería de personajes femeninos que, en su momento y en su país, contribuyeron a romper no pocos tópicos y a levantar tabúes seculares. El NTF propone, así, una serie de monólogos y/o escenas breves inspiradas en una serie de novelas del s.XX en las que el autor o autora destaca a sus protagonistas, mujeres imaginarias que en su tiempo (y aún hoy) significaron una importante ruptura de los estereotipos femeninos vigentes. Este trabajo de creación sobre textos narrativos preexistentes, toma forma y cuerpo en dos funciones teatrales que entrelazarán los monólogos de estas heroínas de papel, cuestionadoras de una idea de mujer que ha prevalecido durante siglos en la cultura occidental.
