Desnoyers, Danièle (Nombre de persona)

Born in Montreal, Danièle Desnoyers studied classical and modern dance, as well as music, from an early age. In the mid 1980s, at the Université du Québec à Montréal, where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in dance, she made a pivotal encounter with Jean-Pierre Perreault (1947-2002), with whom she collaborated as a dancer for several years (Joe, Stella, Piazza, Les Éphémères, etc.). From this exceptional artist she derived her preoccupation with form, and for breaking down the walls of the discipline. The singular world of Danièle Desnoyers has strongly impacted the landscape of Quebec contemporary dance since 1989, the year Le Carré des Lombes was formed.
