Roberts, Adam (Nombre de persona)
Co-founder, co-producer & co-director with Paul Coleman of the AIDS Since the 80s Project (now The HIV Story Trust) which, between June 2015 and February 2017 filmed more than 100 interviews with long-term survivors of HIV. This unprecedented documentary project captured experiences of HIV in the UK from the 1980s to the present day. Five films made between 1994 and 2006, in collaboration with choreographer Jonathan Burrows, that have attracted particular attention, and been screened widely. Two of the films (Hands and blue/yellow) were selected by both Anne Teresa de Keersmacher and by William Forsythe for international tours of their favorite dance films. The films were in most cases funded with grants and commissions from the Arts Council of England, the BBC, Kai Theatre, and the Prudential Award for the Arts. The collaborating composers were invariably Matteo Fargion and Kevin Volans. In the case of blue/yellow the dancer was Sylvie Guillem, who also commisioned the film for BBC/France 2. Adam has written about dance films in What Does a Dance Film Maker See? and Notes on Filming Dance. Reviews and other commentary can be found on the bio & information page. https://www.adamroberts.info/adam-roberts-dance-films.html
