This article focuses on the two largest collections, that of Madge Atkinson and Natural Movement, and Ruby Ginner's Revived (later Classical) Greek Dance. Their work is situated within the broad cultural context of the early 20th century, and the archival holdings are evaluated for their potential in offering a re-conceptualisation of early British modern dance.
