Considerations of culture in a wider sense remind me of the old, insoluble debate about nature versus nurture. Can human beings ever be pigeonholed in such an either/or fashion? It seems to me that culture, too, is something that we both inherit and acquire. It's in our bodies, senses and memories; it's where we're born, where we go and what we're exposed to during our lifetimes.
