First programme: 1. Pepita Jiménez: homage to the memory of Encarnación López "La Argentinita", creator of the original "Ballet Espagnol"/ music by Albéniz. 2. Danza del chivato: from the Ballet "La Romeria de los Cornudos", "The Cuckolds Fair"/ music by G. Pittaluga. 3. Bolero de Dona Francisquita: classical dance from the "Zarzuela" operetta of that name/ music by Vives. 4. Zapateado/ music by Sarasate. 5. Escenas Castellanas: a) Con el Alba/ music by G. Gombau. b) Canción y Danza/ music by J.Navarro. 6. Soleá por Bulerías/ music by Lopez Tejera. 7. Fantasía Goyesca (Inspired by the paintings and cartoons of the inmortal Aragonese painter Goya. This scene appropriately ends with the jotas of Valencia and Aragon. It was originally created at the New York Metropolitan Opera House in 1943, with choreography by Argentinita and Pilar López): a) Majos y Duquesas. b) Fandango del Candil. c) Jugando al Toro. d) La Vendimia. e) La Maja y el Ruiseñor. f) El Piropo. g) Los Caprichos (y se la llevaron). h) Jotas Aragonesa Y Valenciana/ music by Granados. 8. "Suite Basque": "A people who dance at the foot of the Pyrenees, said Voltaire of this mysterious race of the seven provinces in France and Spain. Essentialy a dance of traditional, open-air pastoral rites and patron saints' festivals, the agile Basque dance, noble in character, is mostly masculine, virile and rarely seen on the stage. The Masquerade takes place at Carnival-time in the villages of La Soule). a) Reverencia, b) Banako, c) Txankarrenko, d) Masquerade Souletine. Satan. e) Gavotte. 9. Puerta de Tierra: Bolero/ Music by Albéniz. 10. Flamencos de la Trinidad: ("Romance de Amor" Gipsy scene. The "Caña" is one of the most primitive of gipsy rhythms of the Cante Grande group) / music by Tejera and Soirt. 11. Zapateado del Perchel (Another dance of pure technhical vituosity from Málaga) / music by Tejera and Soirt. 12. Huayno (Inca Dance, collected in Peru by La Argentinita and presented for the first time at the Teatro Colon, Buenos Aires, 1935) / music by Thomas Rios. 13. Bolero (Given for the first time at New York's Carnegie Hall in 1942. The Famous orchestral piece serves as the apotheosis of the Spanish Ballet/ music by Ravel.
