Amparo Izquierdo comienza por describir el contexto histórico del origen del auto en España bajo el marco de la fiesta religiosa del Corpus Christi y sus transformaciones durante los reinados de Felipe III y Felipe IV, deteniéndose en cada una de sus principales etapas. (...) Esta primera aproximación histórica al género le permite explicar los aportes del Fénix al auto sacramental de inicios del siglo XVII. (...)
