"«Es posible que la violencia de Shakespeare nunca haya sido descubierta de una manera tan brutal y provocativa. Obscena, dura y poética. Palabras. Palabras. Palabras. Pero apenas quedan palabras. Solo algunos aspectos destacados. Poesía reconocible -tal como cita Shakespeare- que ilumina como una centella en una noche oscura y desaparece inmediatamente. Con el tiempo necesario para reconocer el paisaje, pero con el tiempo insuficiente para encontrar el camino. Erwin Jans Cuando cae el telón después de las tragedias de Shakespeare, el orden se ha reestablecido. En medio de una montaña de cuerpos, la calma del equilibrio desciende una vez más. Lo que precede a todo esto -la obra- escenifica la salida de todas las reglas morales, un alquiler profundo en el tejido social, un exceso de agresividad y de violencia. ¿Es necesario ese exceso para poder demostrar con más contundencia la necesidad de la ley? ¿O la violencia contiene su propia visión? ¿Su propia verdad? ¿Y cuál sería?» Shakespeare es el escritor más leído y representado que el mundo ha conocido jamás. Y, sin embargo, muchas de las obras son prácticamente irrepresentables debido a su violencia, atrocidad, racismo y misoginia. ¿Qué papel juega la violencia en el arte en el mundo actual? ¿Por qué nos gusta tanto ver violencia? ¿Se ve de manera distinta la violencia hoy en día de cómo se veía en los siglos XVI-XVII?". |
